Workshop/Studio, Darlington

An extra nice shed.

The cabin is built over a degraded area of ground.

This small building is designed to compliment a residence that was built a decade ago. See the Mofflin Ave House project. It is located a distance from the main house on a sloping area where no significant bush vegetation existed. It is however, surrounded by beautiful grass trees.

A series of interlocking decks provide seating options.

The slope down to the studio is by a series of interlocking decks that weave around the grass trees with each elongated step providing a spot to sit & hang out. All materials are either metal, fibre cement or composite & are fire-rated.

Colour & materials are simple, rugged & sympathetic to the context & house.

A spot to work, rest or play.

The building is sited lower down the slope so that its visual impact from the street is reduced. To give a sense of being amongst trees, a large window is located next to the adjacent gum tree.
